Genty's 1965 GT350 (CLONE)247 viewsThe car was raced @ NewFounland race, this last year

Owner: Genty Zentmeyer of General Auto Instruments

1965 Mustang race car built to run in the Targa Newfoundland open road race.
Car was built to run in the "stock" class, all parts must be OEM, no
aftermarket pieces. Shelby was chosen because all the modifications Shelby
made to the car for racing are perfect for what we wanted to do - race it.
Engine is original 289 hi po with stock hi po heads and was built by Holman
Moody. Four speed toploader, 9" 3.55 rear.
Car has full roll cage and fuel cell.
Year One and Orlando Mustang are the primary sponsors of the car. Car was
very reliable (bullshit, car broke three times every day) and finished the
week long race, winning its class.
The car is entered in this year's Targa Newfoundland event too. Photo & text from
Genty Zentmeyer.

We purchased this GT500 Shelby from second owner, Mark Forti in Phoenix Arizona through Orlando Mustang. Orlando Mustang did a complete restoration to a concours driven level. Mr. Forti had the Shelby painted Candy Apple Red in 1992 (original color was Royal Maroon).

Any parts replaced have been correct replacement parts with proper fit and finish to those provided by Ford. Vehicle has documented mileage at 72,000 miles.
